My solution for Illegal Immigration: He who owns the property makes the rules....

“If history could teach us anything, it would be that private property is inextricably linked with civilization.”--Ludwig Von Mises

One of the most contentious issues today even among Libertarians is that of Illegal Immigration.

Some people suggest the way to solve this problem is to build a wall on the border between the US and Mexico. I refer to these people as the Berlin Wall people.

Others suggest we should limit the number of people entering the country.

Still others suggest that people who hire Illegals should be punished for doing so as a way of curbing Illegal Immigration. These same people further suggest that people should be punished
for offering housing to Illegals.

Yet another way that is being suggested as a way of curbing Illegal Immigration is to not allow Illegal Immigrants access to any Public services such as Welfare or Hospitals.

What is lost in all these arguments though is what should be the only argument that really matters (and sadly even Libertarians seem to overlook this) and that is of private property.

If you truly own your property (yes I know and I can already hear Libertarians screaming,"BUT YOU DON'T OWN YOUR PROPERTY!!!" but lets put this aside for a moment)
then only you can justly make rules over who is allowed access to it. Not the Federal Government, not the State of Texas, not the Citizens of the US or Texas but you. You are also the only one who can justly distribute it.

Therefore, when someone says you cannot pay someone with the property YOU have earned simply because they have not been granted a privilege known as Citizenship (which is really Government claiming ownership over your life but I digress) then what you are really saying is the Government has a higher claim to an individuals property than the rightful owner does.

This is not a recipe for freedom but Socialism!

The same can be said for someone who offers someone somewhere to stay in exchange for money. The only person that justly make such a decision is the property owner.

"But they're stealing jobs from us Americans!"

I am simply amazed at how many supposedly freedom loving Libertarians have uttered such nonsense.

First it assumes that an economy is some finite piece of pie that at some point reaches full distribution and then anyone left over gets screwed!

Only with Statist distribution does this take place. Been in a Traffic Jam lately?

Second, this suggests that much like Health Care or Public Schooling or Housing that people are entitled to a job and that you can therefore use guns to force people to hire you instead of who they choose to hire regardless of status.

"But it's just not fair that they hire a Mexican at a lower wage instead of hiring me!"

Well as I said to a friend that said this to me,"Your personal feelings don't determine whether or not I get to use my property."

So to summarize:

If someone comes here from Mexico by my invitation then you (either individually or collectively as one of the Citizens of the US or Texas) have NO say in the matter. If I further invite them to work on MY property then you have NO say in the matter. If I further offer them a place for shelter then you have NO say in the matter. This is how individual property rights is SUPPOSED to work which is why the Government is working so hard to SUPPRESS it.

So there you have it, my solution for the Illegal Immigration problem.

He who owns the property makes the rules.

The State Engages in Legalized Kidnapping to Stem the Tide Of "Illegal Immigration". I feel safer already.....

"Americans are being conditioned to live in a Soviet-style prison nation with border minefields, national electronic ID, travel controls, random searches, etc. all justified by the need to protect the welfare state against the poor of the world. It isn’t the libertarian’s job to defend the welfare state, or the Gulag that it always becomes. It is our job to point out that the State itself is the problem. Without the US government support for Third World kleptocracies, more countries would be free (and more people would want to stay there). Without public schools, "free" medical care, etc., immigrants would not drain our nation. They would power it, as they did in the early 20th century."--"The Immigration Solution" by Bill Walker
How can seemingly sensible Libertarians be so wrong on the issue of Illegal Immigration?
The recent round up of illegals (statist speak for legalized kidnapping) is troubling to me to say the least.
Libertarians by in large understand that the State should not be trusted with our guns, our money, our children to educate them, our speech, et all yet the State suddenly becomes a benevolent granter of all that is holy when it comes to dealing with Illegal Immigration?
This contradition in both simple logic and common sense just boggles my mind.
If anything, more of us should be illegal aliens.
We should outright refuse any and all documention of us by the State which amounts to the State claiming us as it's property.
Yet the answer to solving the 'problem' is to terrorize a group of people who are not documented by the State. And not being numbered by the State is bad because?
Oh but don't you understand they're draining our resources and stealing our jobs!
First of all, the only one responsible for draining resources of all of us is the State.
Who they give the stolen loot to is irrelevent.
Shutdown the Welfare State and the draining of resources will take care of itself.
The stealing of American jobs by 'illegals' is an amazing absurdity uttered by even otherwise sensible Libertarians which also blows my mind.
Since when is anyone entitled to a job?
The question answers itself.
You have no more of a right to a job than you do Health Care, a living wage, Housing, or anything else for that matter.
I cannot believe in America we've already come to the point where people can be just grabbed off the street and thrown into vans for being from a certain ethnic group and don't give me this bunk that they are only targeting illegals.

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/05/04/D8HD34RO0.html

Just like the Drug War there are innocent people being swept up in the irrational fear of the supposed threat of illegals which itself is a HUGE lie told to get the brainwashed masses to sign on.

Yes there are a few individuals genuinely concerned about the border but the answer is NOT to engage in this kind of brutality but to allow people to protect their property locally and remove the Government ENTIRELY out of Border Patrol and Immigration.

Then again it did such a BRILLIANT job on 9/11 and with Hurricane Katrina, why shouldn't we trust it to manage the Border and Immigration?

It has NO CLUE what it is doing and it has no incentive to be productive since it lives off stolen loot and didn't earn the position by satisfying customers like every market endeavor must do in order to not only survive but prosper.

What is going on in Arizona and neighboring States is nothing more than legalized kidnapping because that is EXACTLY what we'd be called, Kidnappers, if we engaged in the same behavior be they legal citizens or not.

This Police Posse thing going on in Arizona is abhorrent but then again we are talking about the State.

The Masked Man Unmasks The Criminal State To Show Us The Monster It Truly Is and In Doing So May Save Humanity From The Madness Of It All.......

"How can you possibly make any difference?
Individuals have no power in this modern world.
That is what you've been taught because that is what they need you to believe.
But it is not true. This is why they are afraid and the reason that I am here; to remind you that it is individuals who always hold the power.
The real power. Individuals like me. And individuals like you.
I have come to offer you a deal. If you accept, I will give you a different world.
A world without curfews, without soldiers and surveillance systems.
A world that is not run by other men but that is run by you.
I am offering you a second chance."--V for Vendetta
Fear is a natural emotion. There is nothing inherently bad or evil about it.
On the contrary, fear can be a great motivator. It can motivate you to do things you only dreamed about and never thought imaginable.
We all have experienced fear at one point or another in our lives. Fear of failure. Fear of growing old. Fear of dying. Fear of never being loved.
Yet, we all overcome these fears to accomplish many things. We become prosperous. We take care of our health to ensure an enjoyable life into our elder years. We make sensible decisions that directly impact our lives to protect our lives and those that we love. We may even find someone to love and start a family.
As I said, fear can be a great motivator and there is nothing inherently bad or evil about it.
However, fear can be used for evil as well as good and this where V for Vendetta and the Criminal State come in.
As V says in the movie,"Fear became the ultimate tool of this government." and he is right both about the Government he knew and the Government we now know.
You might well say "But the Government protects us and if they didn't we'd be dead and then what good is your precious freedoms?"
Now there is the rub.
My response would be is as follows,"What good is your life if you are not free?"
The answer is obviously that it is worth nothing but let me get back to the purpose of this discussion.
And that is of fear.
The Government we currently know uses fear on a daily basis to take our freedoms away and by the looks of things it looks like it is working.
On a daily basis I hear fear mongering about Illegal Immigration, Terrorism, Plagues, Environmental Disaster, Crime, Corrupt Businessmen, to you name it.
And just what is the purpose of this fear mongering?
If you are among the less cynical and tragically most are in this group you would genuinely suggest that The Government truly cares about you and is only doing what is in your best interests. But is it?
As I am in the group with the most cynicism I would submit that the reason for all this is far more insidious, far more sinister than most people would prefer to contemplate.
As was the motivating factor of V's Government it is for your Government.
It is control.
Your Government has used fear to imprison you. Fear has allowed your freedoms and dignity to be robbed from you without a whimper of protest.
The news bombards you with fear to further cloud and contaminate your mind and prevent you from seeing the evil going on all around you.
It happens in the Airport by total strangers who fondle your loved ones, on street corners where Police congregate to harass the innocent. It happens in the halls of Justice where Judges convict people of crimes which don't exist except in the madcap mind of a bureaucrat. It happens in businesses that are terrorized by the States goons into complying with every rule, every regulation out of fear of losing their business. It happens when you pay taxes in compliance of laws that are a fiction but you allow this evil be done to you out of fear. It happens the moment you leave your very house making sure all your papers are in order for fear of being stopped without them.
Fear has served this Government well and will continue to do so because you sheepishly obey it's commands.
Fear has been used by The Criminal State to divide and conquer us all in the pursuit of total power. Or has it?
See it's not over yet. The State still needs many years to completely conquer us as there are still a few with the courage to resist, but for how long?
In the age of Terrorism noncompliance with Government dictates is seen as a dangerous act of sedition and not to be tolerated in the least.
Much like in V for Vendetta those that do resist the evils of the State are labeled traitors, terrorists, or worse and some are even held as enemy combatants.
How did all this happen in such a short period of time and what does it hold for our future and that of our progeny?
V makes a very pointed statement today and it is one many should take to heart although I doubt many will:
"People should not be afraid of their Governments, Governments should be afraid of their people."
If there is one thing I truly hope happens as a result of this Anti State Masterpiece of powerful messages (not the least of which is that it is individuals that make a difference and not collectives) it is this.
I hope people shake off the fear and realize they allowed fear to enable their Government to do evil things in their name and that they will be motivated to put a stop to the madness of it all.
Remember Remember the state of fear the State has plotted to engender.

Why The Left and Right Hate Freedom and Love The State, but I repeat myself....

"In contrast to all other thinkers, left, right, or in-between, the libertarian refuses to give the State the moral sanction to commit actions that almost everyone agrees would be immoral, illegal, and criminal if committed by any person or group in society. "--Murray N.Rothbard,The Libertarian Manifesto
In a recent blog posting, one Don Crawford took me and others to task labeling us and I am paraphrasing, haters of America and it's ideals.

Below is an exact quote from his blog:
"First of all, many that hate America seem oblivious to the obvious fact that if America's government were miraculously disbanded, this country would not remain with no government. As the founders recognized and therefore held the Constitutional Convention, and as Thomas Sowell so powerfully describes in Conquest . . . , the whole history of civilization is that if a nation is not strong enough to defend itself, it will be taken captive and enslaved by an aggressor nation."
This is the typical tactic of the Statist. Instead of addressing the moral confusion created by ALL State action (as noted in the above Rothbard quote) they seek to tear down those that challenge the bankrupt morality of the State.
Don't misunderstand me, the Left does this too but I am addressing a Right Wing Talk Show Host's comments for the purposes of this piece.
You only have to look at the Soviet Union as an example to see that if the US Govt withered away and died that we would not descend into chaos as Don believes. There most certainly would be a period of adjustment, just like there was in the Soviet Union, but ultimately our country would survive albeit in a less centralized manner which can only be beneficial to individual Liberty.
To address Dons second point in the quote above, the whole of civilization is also replete with examples of bands of people fighting off and keeping at bay aggressive States the latest example of which is in Iraq.
I would like to review one more part of the posting Don made before launching into my main purpose for writing this piece:
"Second, why on earth do so many like Patrick seem so out of touch with reality that they don't grasp that they live in the greatest nation in the history of the world in terms of freedom and the ability to protect their freedom to be so stupid? Therefore, instead of feeling immeasurable gratitude for America, the rational emotion for any citizen of the U.S.A., they incredibly feel hatred toward her."
Reality?
Most historians regard the 20th Century to be the bloodiest on record and it is also when the State came into full fruition.
Coincidence? I think not.
We "live in the greatest nation in the history of the world in terms of freedom" because of the great accomplishments of individuals and because of this we have experienced wealth many people in other countries only dream about.
Not because of the State, BUT IN SPITE OF IT!
I agree with you that our ability to be stupid is protected.
The creation of a State is an admission that you are too stupid to manage your own life and need someone to shepherd you around in the decision making processes of your life.
Creation of the State is acceptance of ones individual weakness and not a strength as asserted by the Statists both Left and Right.
Hateful of America? No. America because of it's 'Free Market' (I put it in quotes because it's much closer to Socialist than most people realize) Economy has given me and other people opportunities that people in other countries only dream about.
It is the State, with it's constant meddling with and destruction of freedom that I truly despise.
That is an inherent feature of the State though.....
Look the world over and you will find always and everywhere people oppressed by their States edicts. Our country is no different, we just refuse to acknowledge it either out of ignorance or by erroneously associating our abundance with the existence of the US Govt.
Which brings me FINALLY! to the title of this piece:
"Why The Left and Right Hate Freedom and Love The State, but I repeat myself...."
Unlike Don, I prefer to avoid name calling which is why I will now say I don't think the Left or the Right hate freedom although one might wrongly conclude this by their love of State power.
The title was about "illustrating absurdity by being absurd" to quote a Talk Show Host I used to listen to.
It's equally absurd to suggest that people who have honest disagreements with Government action are 'America Haters' as it is for me to suggest that those that love the State hate freedom.
I believe what we have here is a matter of understanding.
Both the Left and the Right do not understand freedom nor do they understand the true nature of the State.
Freedom is the simply having full control over your life, liberty, and property.
To the degree that a State exists is the degree to which this is undermined.
What then is the State?
I think Murray N. Rothbard, who has been my main motivation for creating this site, understood full well what the State was.
This question above is the one all Statists (both Left and Right) avoid like the plague, mainly because they benefit from it's banditry.
In essence when you get past all the high minded rhetoric about helping the poor and protecting the weak (Statist-Speak for those you want to control and exploit) the State is an institution of graft, theft, and murder.
I can think of no better words to describe it.

I spy......A Tyrannical Government!

"The government's been in bed with the entire telecommunications industry since the forties. They've infected everything. They get into your bank statements, computer files, email, listen to your phone calls... Every wire, every airwave. The more technology used, the easier it is for them to, keep tabs on you. It's a brave new world out there. At least it better be."--Brill from the movie "Enemy Of The State"

In the movie "Enemy Of The State" the main character is tracked because it is believed that he has something that could embarrass a prominent public official. The agency that tracks him electronically throughout the film is the NSA and it seemed rather 'out there' until I heard about our own President declaring us all Enemy's Of The State:

"Under a presidential order signed in 2002, the intelligence agency has monitored the international telephone calls and international e-mail messages of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people inside the United States without warrants over the past three years in an effort to track possible "dirty numbers" linked to Al Qaeda, the officials said. The agency, they said, still seeks warrants to monitor entirely domestic communications."

If this wasn't outrageous enough this type of in your face TYRANNY, the President has gone on record as saying (and this is an accurate reflection of his reaction to the leak) that basically he doesn't care if peoples rights were violated and will continue spying on Americans.

He is actually angry that the NY Times (god bless them!) have exposed his despotism and called the NY Times 'shameful'.

No Mr. Aspiring Fascist 4th Reich wanna be you are the one that should be ashamed of yourself.

The only that has committed Treason against the lives, liberties, and property of the American people is you by your despicable act.

Here are a couple quotes about the same story from our aspiring Dictator:

"My personal opinion is it was a shameful act for someone to disclose this very important program in a time of war," Bush told a news conference at which he was questioned repeatedly about the controversial operation disclosed on Friday by The new York Times.

"You got to understand, and I hope the American people understand, there is still an enemy that would like to strike the United States of America and they are very dangerous."

Yes and that enemy occupys 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and is becoming more dangerous everyday.

Can an Anarchist experience Schadenfreude? HELL YEAH!

"In conclusion, I still maintain that George Bush and his subordinates knowingly lied us into war. Let me offer one last bit of armchair logic: If Bush really thought Saddam (a) had stockpiles of WMD and (b) was too crazy to respond rationally to threats of reprisal, then why would Bush send in American troops? Can you imagine the public outcry if, say, 850 US troops were killed in a single day by chemical weapons? Wouldn’t it make a lot more sense to invade Iraq if the president knew Saddam would love to acquire (but didn’t quite yet have) those nasty weapons?"Who's lying about Iraq?" by Bob Murphy

Just who is lying about Iraq? Apparently the soldiers are starting to figure out and one has even vented his frustrations on the Warmongering supporters of the President.

On a story such as the one I am about to discuss I feel torn.

On the one hand, my advocacy as an Anarchist in the inviolability of private property I find it incredibly hard (although tempting) to applaud the actions of the Officer in this story.

I must confess though to feeling a certain level of guilty pleasure upon hearing what this man did.

Below is an excerpt from the story:

"DENVER - The Air Force Reserve plans to discharge a lieutenant colonel accused of defacing cars that had pro-Bush bumper stickers, the military said Friday. Lt. Col. Alexis Fecteau, a pilot with 500 combat hours in the first Persian Gulf war and the Balkans, is charged with criminal mischief for allegedly using paint stripper to write a profanity about Bush in 18-inch-high letters on cars at Denver International Airport.
The cars had bumper stickers supporting President Bush and conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh."

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/12/16/D8EHG7AG2.html

I cannot wait to hear the Bushitas spin on this story!

"We believe it was one of those weak kneed limp wristed cut and run Liberals."

Right......With 500 combat hours in the First Persian Gulf war and the Balkans.

Which brings me to my opening question in the title of this piece.

Can an Anarchist experience Schadenfreude? HELL YEAH!

Oh well, if I am going to go to hell I might as well enjoy the ride!

God Bless Howard Stern! The FCC's days are numbered...One can only hope.

'WE PLAYED DILDO GOLF, WE PLAYED WHEEL OF SEX, WE ARE THE LAST OF A DYING BREED. THIS IS A BIG MOMENT. WE BROKE EVERY RULE KNOWN TO RADIO AND MANKIND. THE GOVERNMENT SAYS CLEAN UP YOUR ACT, WE SAY NEVER.'--Howard Stern at a rally celebrating his entry into uncensored Commercial Satellite Radio

I usually do not talk about celebrities on this site but this is too good of a story to ignore.

Howard Stern, the self proclaimed King Of All Media and a permanent thorn in the side of Station Managers not to mention the Fascist FCC almost since his first day on the air held a rally in which he celebrated his entry into Commercial (meaning not controlled by the busybodies at the FCC) radio on Sirius Satellite Radio:

"I wanna ram that fist right up (radio station owner) Clear Channel Broadcasting, I wanna ram that fist up the religious right. ... For all those radio stations that fired me: F-em! You fired me? We fired YOU!" Stern crowed.

http://today.reuters.com/news/NewsArticle.aspx?type=entertainmentNews&storyID=uri:2005-12-16T193346Z_01_KRA628036_RTRUKOC_0_US-MEDIA-STERN.xml&pageNumber=1&summit=

To be totally honest I have only listened to Howard Stern maybe twice but that is my choice which is exactly the point here.

The Government has no right ( and I don't give flying flip what the FCC says) to tell you what you can and cannot listen to or watch for that matter. The Government is not your father and it is NOT your mother and it's about time people start taking responsibility for their own and more importantly the lives of their children.

If Howard Stern says something that offends you or you find in poor taste then CHANGE THE FREAKIN CHANNEL!

If you have children and don't want them to listen then DON'T FREAKIN LET EM!

I have never been a fan of Howard Stern as noted by my comments above but....

GOD BLESS HOWARD STERN for thumbing his nose at another useless Government agency which means the FCC's days are numbered, one can only hope.

Homeland Scarecurity Thugs get their first kill....I feel safer already! NOT!

"[During the 20th century]... 170 million men, women, and children have been shot, beaten, tortured, knifed, burned, starved, frozen, crushed, or worked to death; buried alive, drowned, hung, bombed, or killed in any other of the myriad ways governments have inflicted death on unarmed, helpless citizens and foreigners."- R. J. Rummel, Death by Government

The violence that is the essence of ALL State action was on full display on December 7th 2005 in Miami where an innocent American was MURDERED (the gunning down of someone like he was some sort of rabid dog is NOT an accident!) by Homeland Security Thugs (aka Federal Air Marshals) for supposedly having a bomb.

This action must have been part of those great new enhanced security measures the TSA Nazis have been talking about!

Since this story broke several eyewitnesses (guess the Air Marshals weren't that good a shot or ran out of bullets) have stated since the Government's story (aka Big Lie) was reported
ad neuseam by the Government media that the man never said he had a bomb. Oops! Somebody's lying and I bet this group also knows where the WMD's are buried!

An excerpt reporting of the execution of this collateral damage (Government speak for someone standing in the way of us exercising more power) in the War on Terror (looks like the Air Marshals got the Terror part mastered) is below:

"The passenger, identified as Rigoberto Alpizar, a 44-year-old U.S. citizen, was gunned down on a jetway just before the American Airlines plane was about to leave for Orlando, near his home in Maitland."

"It was quite scary," she told the TV station via a cell phone. "They wouldn't let you move. They wouldn't let you get anything out of your bag."

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/12/07/D8EBOHE8I.html

Just another day in the War Of Terror!

Terrorizing the American citizenry that is.
